Gelled sweets, dragées, lokum and chocolate bars for importers and distributors in Cambodia

From Gaziantep, Türkiye, into Phnom Penh: gelled and jelly sweets, marshmallow, chocolate dragées, lokum and bars — in bulk cartons and mixed containers, into a market where Türkiye is already the fifth largest source of sugar confectionery.

Cases of chocolate, dragées and Turkish delight consolidated for one container in Gaziantep
Who we quote for

One container, every line, from Gaziantep.

Cambodia imported around twenty-six million dollars of sugar confectionery and about six million dollars of chocolate in the most recent reported year. Türkiye was the fifth largest source of sugar confectionery at about four per cent, behind China, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam — the regional suppliers next door.

It is worth being exact about what actually moves. Shipment records for Turkish sugar confectionery into Cambodia are dominated by gelled and jelly sweets, starch-based gel candy and marshmallow, with only limited quantities of Turkish delight. So the Turkish trade into this market today is a mass-market confectionery trade, not a premium one — and an offer that leads with the specialist end would be arguing against the evidence.

That shapes what we put first. Gelled sweets, marshmallow and coated items in bulk cartons are the working range here; pistachio lokum, dragées and Dubai-style bars are the lines to test alongside them rather than instead of them. A mixed container is the natural first load for exactly that reason.

We supply direct from the chocolate and confectionery manufacturers in Gaziantep, the city we work in.

  • Food importers and distributors in Phnom Penh supplying retail, wholesale and the trade.
  • Confectionery and general-goods wholesalers buying by the carton for repacking and for the weighed counter.
  • Supermarket and minimart buyers placing imported lines.
  • Distributors already running regional confectionery from China, Thailand or Vietnam, adding a Turkish line to the range.
  • Cambodian brands that want the same lines under their own name — the route is set out on the private label page.

Cambodia notes

What stays the same on every offer.

Rates and rules change; the quotation states what applies on the day. These points do not change.

What the Turkish trade here actually is
Shipment records for Turkish sugar confectionery into Cambodia are dominated by gelled and jelly sweets, starch-based gel candy and marshmallow, with limited Turkish delight. That is the honest picture of the category today: a volume trade rather than a specialist one. We lead with the lines that match it and offer the pistachio range as the test alongside, not as the opening argument.
The neighbours set the price
China, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam together supply most of Cambodia's sugar confectionery, and they ship short distances. A Turkish offer that tries to win on price against a neighbouring supplier is arguing on their ground. What travels better from Gaziantep is what they do not make — pistachio-led lines and kadayıf-built bars — plus volume lines where the specification, not the freight, is the deciding factor.
Importer research works differently here
There is no product-code-based importer database for Cambodia; company information comes from chamber registries and from shipment records instead. Practically, this means a first approach is built from named companies and verified contact details rather than from a downloadable list, and it moves slower at the start.
Mixed containers
Because the working range and the test range are different here, a mixed container is the natural first load: volume lines that the trade already knows alongside a smaller quantity of the pistachio and Dubai-style lines. Minimums are stated per line, so a mixed load does not mean a minimum per line is waived.
Heat is the design constraint
Cambodia is hot and humid year-round. Filled chocolate and coated lines need the route, the season and the packaging decided together, and in some windows the sugar-confectionery lines are the sounder load. This is settled with the importer before an offer is firmed.
The label is Khmer, and the importer owns it
What goes on the pack is decided by the company that first places the goods on the Cambodian market — the importer. We supply the ground for it: the producer's technical data sheet per line, ingredient and allergen statements, nutrition figures and the origin declaration.
Trade ground
Cambodia is classified as a least developed country and Türkiye and Cambodia do not have a free trade agreement in force for this category, so goods enter on Cambodia's ordinary applied rates. The exact rate is confirmed line by line with the importer or their customs broker before the offer is firmed.

Questions

Asked before the first list.

Which lines sell into Cambodia today?

Shipment records for Turkish sugar confectionery into Cambodia are dominated by gelled and jelly sweets, starch-based gel candy and marshmallow, with limited Turkish delight. Those are the lines with a proven route; the pistachio range is what we would test alongside them.

Can you compete with regional suppliers on price?

Not on the same ground. China, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam ship short distances and supply most of the market. What travels better from Gaziantep is what they do not make — pistachio-led lines and kadayıf-built bars — and volume lines where the specification decides rather than the freight.

What does a first order look like?

A mixed container: volume lines the trade already knows, with a smaller quantity of pistachio lokum, dragées and Dubai-style bars to test. Minimums are still counted per line.

How do you handle the heat?

Route, season and packaging are decided together with the importer before an offer is firmed. In some windows the sugar-confectionery lines are the sounder load, because they are less heat-sensitive than filled chocolate.

Do you prepare Khmer labels?

Under private label we prepare the artwork from the producer's technical data sheet and the Cambodian labelling requirements, checked on your side before print. For our own lines the importer prepares the label using the same data we supply.

Do you work with distributors already carrying regional brands?

Yes — it is usually the shortest route, because the clearing process and the shelf are already in place and the range is being extended rather than started.

Is Antep Foods a chocolate manufacturer in Türkiye?

No. Antep Foods is an export company in Gaziantep. Production takes place at Gaziantep producers we name line by line in the offer; certificates and data sheets are issued in the producer’s name. Wholesale only; prices come in a written offer, not on the site.
