Lokum, dragées and chocolate bars for importers and wholesalers in Mongolia
From Gaziantep, Türkiye, into Ulaanbaatar: lokum, chocolate dragées, gelled sweets and bars, in bulk cartons and retail-ready cases — into a market where Türkiye is already the second largest source of sugar confectionery, and where the route runs overland through a neighbour.

One container, every line, from Gaziantep.
Mongolia imported about seventy million dollars of chocolate and around forty million dollars of sugar confectionery in the most recent year it reported. Türkiye was the second largest source of sugar confectionery, at just over eighteen per cent — behind Russia and ahead of Germany. In chocolate Türkiye sits ninth at around three per cent.
That eighteen per cent is the whole story of this market. Turkish confectionery is not new to Mongolia; it is already one of the two things on the shelf. The question is not whether the route works but who is running it and whether there is room for another supplier alongside them.
We will say plainly what we could not measure. Mongolian is not available as a targeting language in the keyword tool, and the English and Russian measurements we ran returned almost nothing local — the search results were foreign wholesalers and reference pages, not Mongolian companies. So this page is built on trade data and on how goods physically reach Ulaanbaatar, not on search demand. Where a claim would need search evidence we do not have, we have left it out.
We supply direct from the chocolate and confectionery manufacturers in Gaziantep, the city we work in.
- Importers and wholesalers in Ulaanbaatar supplying retail and the trade, buying by the carton.
- Distributors already running Turkish or Russian confectionery, adding pistachio-led and Dubai-style lines to a range that is working.
- Supermarket and convenience buyers placing own-label or imported lines.
- Gift and seasonal set assemblers, buying dragées and lokum in bulk and packing on their side.
- Mongolian brands that want the same lines under their own name — the route is set out on the private label page.

- Türkiye is already second
- In sugar confectionery Türkiye is the second largest source into Mongolia at around eighteen per cent, behind Russia. This is unusual: in most markets we are arguing for a first listing, here the category is already established and the argument is about which Turkish supplier and which lines. Chocolate is the thinner side, at around three per cent and ninth place.
- The route is overland, through a neighbour
- Mongolia is landlocked between Russia and China, and goods arrive overland after a sea leg. That makes transit, not the sea freight, the part of the cost and the timetable that moves. Route, border crossing and transit paperwork are agreed with the importer before an offer is firmed, because the same goods can arrive on very different timelines depending on the corridor chosen.
- Heat and cold both matter
- A route that crosses a continent overland exposes chocolate to both summer heat and deep winter cold, and the two ask for different things. Which lines travel well on a given corridor and in a given season is decided with the importer — in some windows the sugar-confectionery lines, which are less heat-sensitive than filled chocolate, are the sounder load.
- What we could not measure
- Mongolian cannot be targeted in the keyword tool, and neither the English nor the Russian measurement returned a meaningful local picture — the search results were foreign suppliers and reference pages rather than Mongolian companies. We have therefore not built this page on search demand. The trade figures are from the most recent year Mongolia reported, which is not the current year.
- The label is the importer's
- What goes on the pack is decided by the company that first places the goods on the Mongolian market — the importer. We supply the ground for it: the producer's technical data sheet per line, ingredient and allergen statements, nutrition figures and the origin declaration.
- Trade ground
- Türkiye and Mongolia do not have a free trade agreement in force for this category, so goods enter on Mongolia's ordinary applied rates, confirmed line by line with the importer or their customs broker before the offer is firmed.

Is Turkish confectionery already sold in Mongolia?
Yes. Türkiye is the second largest source of sugar confectionery into Mongolia, at around eighteen per cent in the most recent reported year. The category is established; what we are offering is a pistachio-led range alongside it.
How do goods reach Ulaanbaatar?
Overland, after a sea leg, through a neighbouring country. The corridor and the border crossing change the timetable and the cost more than the sea freight does, so they are agreed with the importer before an offer is firmed.
Which lines travel best?
It depends on the corridor and the season. Sugar-confectionery lines — lokum, gelled sweets, dragées — are less heat-sensitive than filled chocolate, and on some routes and in some windows they are the sounder load. We decide that with the importer rather than sending a standard mix.
Do you work with distributors already carrying Turkish goods?
Yes, and it is often the shortest route: the clearing process and the shelf are already there, and the range is being extended rather than started.
What does a first order look like?
A mixed container is the usual shape, so several lines can be tested in one load. Minimums are stated per line.
Can you supply under our own brand?
Yes — the route is set out on the private label page. The label content is prepared from the producer's technical data sheet and signed off on your side before print.
Is Antep Foods a chocolate manufacturer in Türkiye?
No. Antep Foods is an export company in Gaziantep. Production takes place at Gaziantep producers we name line by line in the offer; certificates and data sheets are issued in the producer’s name. Wholesale only; prices come in a written offer, not on the site.
