Ramadan and the two Eids
The feast after Ramadan is called Şeker Bayramı in Turkish, the sugar feast; Turkish delight, dragées and chocolate are the things offered to guests and given as gifts. The second Eid follows about two months later. Both move about eleven days earlier in the British calendar each year, so last year’s order date is the wrong reference. The lines that sell: pistachio Turkish delight finger rolls in 2 kg inner units, ten per case; special lokum with pistachio or kadayif coating in 5 kg or 2 kg inner units; almond dragées in a 3 kg bulk box, six per case; chocolate gift boxes.
Diwali
Diwali sweets in Britain are traditionally mithai, and we do not make those. What Asian grocers add from Türkiye is the gift format around them: dragées in gold, silver and bronze finishes, pralines in a 200 g gift box, six per case, mini chocolates in a 200 g acetate box, and Turkish delight cut for the tray. The colours matter, and colours should be sampled before ordering because photographs never show them reliably.
Christmas and the gift shelf
For Christmas the same grocers, and the delis beside them, take the signature chocolate gift box at 180 g, 36 per case, pistachio cream cups in the display dome for the counter, and boxed Turkish delight. Cocoa-butter chocolate lines travel at a controlled temperature; by the Christmas order date that is rarely an issue, but an order for the summer Eid is quoted with a reefer.
When to order
A container from Gaziantep leaves by sea from Mersin or by road across Europe; the carrier states the transit in the offer, and we do not promise days. The rule is to order against the feast date of the current year, with the transit and your own distribution time in front of it. One mixed container covers the whole calendar: lokum and dragées for Eid, gift boxes for Diwali and Christmas, flowpacks for the everyday shelf, each line on its own pallet with its own minimum.
What one container covers
A grocer or cash and carry that serves the whole calendar does not need four containers. One mixed load from Gaziantep carries the Turkish delight and dragées for Eid, the gift boxes and coloured dragées for Diwali, the signature boxes and cups for Christmas and the flowpacks for the everyday shelf, each line from its own producer with its own minimum. The offer lists the formats by the case so the load can be split across the feasts on paper before it is loaded.
Halal, labels and the offer
Halal certificates belong to the producer of each line and are issued in its name; we pass them on and do not claim them as ours. The UK label with ingredients, allergens and the UK address is the importer’s; the producer supplies the data. Preferential duty rests on an origin declaration under the UK–Türkiye trade agreement. We are an export company, not the factory: the written offer follows within two working days, in US dollars, FCA Gaziantep, FOB Mersin, CIF or DAP, payment in two halves against the loading photographs, samples first, free from running production, courier at your cost.
Do you make Indian sweets for Diwali?
No. Mithai is not our line. We supply the gift formats around it: dragées, pralines, mini chocolates and Turkish delight for the tray.
How early should an Eid container be ordered?
Against the current year’s date, with the carrier’s transit and your distribution time in front of it. Eid moves about eleven days earlier each year.
Are the lines halal certified?
Certificates are issued to the producer of each line, in its name. We pass them on with the offer; the certificate is the producer’s, not ours.
